Los Angeles in the 1950s was one of America’s fastest growing cities. Not all visitors were warmly welcomed by the California Highway Patrol. In Stan’s painting a CHP officer prepares to write-up a speeder driving a 1954 Buick Skylark. The CHP cruiser is similar to that made famous in the popular TV series Highway Patrol.
