Like the Oregon Trail many decades earlier, RT 66 brought families west who were seeking a better life in the Golden State. In Stan’s beautifully detailed painting, an Indiana family, headed for the promised land of Southern California, is experiencing some mechanical problems with their Edsel Station Wagon. Meanwhile an attractive and prosperous Southern California couple, are headed east in their Cobra.
