Description

Two mid-1950s classics, a Studebaker Golden Hawk and a Chrysler 300C, adorn the courtyard at the restored San Carlos Borromeo de Carmel Mission in Carmel. Founded in 1771, the Carmel Mission is the burial place for padre Junipero Sera, a Franciscan Friar who was instrumental in founding the California Missions. the 300C was a beautiful brute with its 375-HP engine, and the Studebaker Hawk was a forefunner of the "pony cars" that would come in the mid-1960s.
